RDG Economic Impact
Reading Regional Airport provides facilities for many airport activities that impact our local community. A 2022 study measures RDGs total economic impact at $77,984,700 annually.
AIRPORT LAND DEVELOPMENT ZONES (ALDZ)
The Airport Land Development Zone (ALDZ) Program encourages and promotes the creation of new aviation-related jobs through airports within the Commonwealth. The purpose of ALDZ is to generate new economic abilities and revenue sources for airports. New jobs can be created through the utilization of undeveloped land and/or vacant buildings owned by airports, with a $2100 tax-credit per net new job created.
With the passing of ALDZ, airports of all shapes and sizes now have the potential to be economic hubs for their communities.
